The Last Void
My Attempt at the GoGodot Jam.
Although missing features that I would have enjoyed to implement (abilities and better progressive AI), I enjoyed my time with this project and will take a well deserved break from my first ever project in Godot.
With a fresh pair of eyes I hope to come back and address some of the issues and features that I would like to implement.
The Game
The Game is a turned out to be a simple auto battler by the end with permanent damage to health. Units can be bought from the shop using the energy that is granted per round and then placed in formation on the field. Upon starting the round, your team fights against the AI generated team that progressively gets larger as the rounds go on. A base reward of two energy is granted every round, with a bonus two energy provided on wins, and one on draws.
Round Battles
The round battles begin by moving any units from the above or below lanes towards the middle lane, before the units closest to the enemy units launching their attack.
Future
As state, this game was created during the GoGodot game jam, and although beset by real life duties and work life, I enjoyed working on this project. After some time, I would like to come back and address the following features, improvements and issues with the game in no particular order:
- Abilities for units
- Merging of units
- Unique Enemy Teams
- Better Animations and Effects
- Better Graphics
- Menu and Settings
- Brief story and cutscenes to set the tone.
- Sounds and Music (how can I miss that!?)
